The Professional Development Centre

The Professional Development Centre The Professional Development Centre has the expertise that your organisation can rely on to develop

Arthur Turner and Pamela Heneberry started this Leadership development organisation in 2010, since that time PDC has increased its influence in the fields of leadership, management, coaching and mentoring. This has been achieved through a broad range of well-acclaimed programmes, (delivered often through vocational qualifications), conference presentations and a number of published academic papers

. We are particularly proud of our recently published book Critical Leadership (Heneberry, Turner & Pardey, 2019). We are delighted with our track record and have enjoyed working with a number of organisations throughout this period. The team at The Professional Development Centre Ltd (PDC) have developed creative and innovative ways of working with organisations and individuals in both public and private sectors in Wales/Cymru and Europe. We have co-created business solutions for leaders, managers, coaches and those aspiring to enter these professional occupations

Since March 2020, PDC have developed a significant on-line presence that provides innovative and real time development solutions. We are still using the skills and creative techniques of experiential learning and action learning with great success, as well as delivering one-to-one coaching sessions. Our highly qualified team associates – all specialists within this field - have also worked across the UK in delivering a wide variety of tailored courses, qualifications and programmes of development – now firmly rooted in our tailored on-line offerings and solutions.

For learning, experience is not enough.

We all experience many things. Some are hard, some are fun, some we call success, some we see as failure. But we don’t all learn from experience. So what turns experience into learning?

We need to add reflection, humility and willingness to experiment. A PDC coach will help you turn the raw material of reflection into learning you can use.

'Working as an Executive Coach I often speak to leaders who feel they are stuck . Maybe feeling powerless and without purpose. Reading Timothy Butler’s work, Getting Unstuck has often inspired me to think of strategies that can help us move again.' Pam Heneberry.

Delighted that Lowri Norkett-Morgan will also be joining the open panel discussion. Lowri recognising that her career no longer reflected her personal values became the catalyst for a bold decision to leave professional rugby and rewrite the next chapter of her story.

If actions speak louder than words, what does your leadership say?

Saying the right things is easy. Doing the right thing can be hard. People will remember how you treated them, particularly in a crisis.

Take time to reflect on how you deal with your colleagues. Maybe ask one or two of them for some feedback. Use a coach to help you make sure your words and your actions harmonise.

Our 11th In Her Words: Women Leading Wales was held last week and we had the amazing and inspirational Gower MP, Tonia Antoniazzi. If you want to be energised, inspired and just have fun this is the woman to spend time with. You could imagine her being your best friend and also your supportive mentor. The woman is a dynamo and just gets things done. Totally motivating.

Huge thank you Tonia.
