Our services
We bring together the services of Historic Building Consultants, Chartered Architects, Chartered Building Surveyors, Project Managers and Energy Assessors to provide a complete service, for both private and public clients. We also work closely with other professionals to offer additional skills if required. DEWIS is registered as a designer with CHAS, a Government backed Health & Safety assessment scheme. DEWIS also has policies in place including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Welsh Language, Environmental and Customer Care. Inspired thinking
At dewis architecture, it’s our aim to turn our clients’ architectural ambitions into a living, breathing reality. Whether the project is to create, restore, adapt or conserve, we first listen to our clients’ and their goals. We then draw on our experience and expertise to make it happen. The planning process and building industry can be challenging and complex but we have the knack of turning complex challenges into smooth running projects, whether it’s a small domestic extension or a multi-million pound restoration. With us, you always know where you stand. We’re clear and open about the full extent of costs and timescales from the outset and won’t make promises we can’t possibly keep. From day one, you’ll know the budget and timings – and we’ll deliver on these. If you’re not familiar with the planning or building process we’ll endeavor to make it as clear as possible so that you understand each stage.

Mae Felin y Bont yn un o felinau hanesyddol mwyaf nodedig Ynys Môn. Wedi’i hadeiladu tua 1825, roedd yn unigryw ar yr ynys oherwydd gallai gael ei phweru gan wynt a dŵr, gan ganiatáu iddi barhau i falu grawn pan oedd y gwynt yn gostwng neu pan oedd lefelau’r dŵr yn isel. Gwnaeth y dyluniad arloesol hi’n un o’r melinau mwyaf effeithlon o’i hamser ac yn enghraifft brin o ynni adnewyddadwy cynnar ar waith. Credir mai dyma’r unig felin ar Ynys Môn lle’r oedd yr hwyliau’n troi i’r cyfeiriad croes i bob melin wynt arall ar yr ynys, oherwydd ei pheiriannau unigryw a bwerwyd gan wynt a dŵr.

Adferwyd y Felin ar ran Ystâd Bodorgan, gan astudio’r felin weithredol, Melin Llynon, am gyfeiriadau dylunio. Mae wedi bod yn llety gwyliau prysur ers yr adferiad.

Felin y Bont is one of Anglesey’s most remarkable historic mills. Built around 1825, it was unique on the island because it could be powered by both wind and water, allowing it to continue milling grain when either the wind dropped or water levels were low. The innovative design made it one of the most efficient mills of its time and a rare example of early renewable energy in action.

It’s believed to be the only mill on Anglesey where the sails turned in the opposite direction to every other windmill on the island, due to its unique combined wind and water-powered machinery.

We restored the Mill for Bodorgan Estate and studied the working mill, for design references. It’s has been a popular holiday let since the restoration.
