I've been tinkering with this project on and off, all month. Finally it's done!
A really nice refurbishment of an old Sharpes Scottie. With a few tweeks, I've transformed this double handed salmon fly rod into a Barbel rod for my customer. With it's dark green matt finish it's certainly a show stopper now!

Over this last week I've had the pleasure of doing this sentimental refurbishment. Keeping as many original features as possible was very important for this one. This rod holds so many memories for my customer, including his first fishing trip at aged 4 with his Grandad.
So, not only did I strip down the blank and rebuild, I also gave the rod rings a good service too. Including reshaping some bent ones, removing the rust and painting up.
A really enjoyable project.

Last week I got the pleasure of this full restoration on a B&W Salmon rod. A big job, but what a difference. Very satisfying indeed.
