Over this last week I've had the pleasure of doing this sentimental refurbishment. Keeping as many original features as possible was very important for this one. This rod holds so many memories for my customer, including his first fishing trip at aged 4 with his Grandad.
So, not only did I strip down the blank and rebuild, I also gave the rod rings a good service too. Including reshaping some bent ones, removing the rust and painting up.
A really enjoyable project.

Last week I got the pleasure of this full restoration on a B&W Salmon rod. A big job, but what a difference. Very satisfying indeed.

This customer wanted the existing reel fitting and handle removed, so he can use coasters instead. A tidy result!

A simple repair on a middle section of a fly rod. All stripped down, an insert fitted then rewhipped over the damage. Most mid section repairs work out well, so send them this way if you have any hiding in the cupboard.

I don't often get a fresh canvas, so it was a treat this week to have two blanks to build up. Both beautiful dry fly wands. An Italian Gatti and a McFarland.
