Should employees get bonuses for simply doing their job?

I’m passionate about people feeling valued in the work they do and being paid fairly, however…

… they are also paid to do a job and deliver certain results.

This is a conversation I have so many discussions around!

In my happy place!

Aberporth, West Wales for the next few days on my own.

I love coming down here to relax and have thinking time on the business.

To get inspired and recharged.

It’s something that I talk about a lot with the clients I work with… so I have to practice what I preach🤣

It’s so important to find time to work on your business (it doesn’t have to be several days away).

That regular time to make sure you’re working on the business and not always working in it.

Hoping the weather stays like this🤞

👉Everyone at some point will have the realisation they’re human👈

But why does it often take us so long to realise this?

We sometimes live our lives like we have an infinite time here on earth and we are indestructible!

… we don’t and we’re not.

At some point, all the toys of life will go back into the box, and we will suffer the same ending that everyone before us, that has lived on this planet, has had.

That’s a nice up lifting post Tim thanks🤣… but it’s true.

Your life, your rules…

… but so many are people basing their lives on how much money they have, how successful they look to others.

Again, your life, your rules…

… but not many, if any, people on their death bed have said ‘I wish I had spent more time working, or in the office!’

Realise why you’re working!

Your parents are not always going to be there.

Your children are not going to be young forever.

Your partner’s not going to hang around forever with the lack of time you’re investing into the relationship!

We all have bills to pay, and you should enjoy what you do for a living and strive to be the best you can be!

That's actually what I do!... I help business owners get the business they want and be the best business owner and leader they can be!

But as the famous quote goes ‘How much money is enough?... just a little bit more’ (John D Rockefeller).

Human greed dictates that if we base our lives and value on money, we will never be fully satisfied.

Enjoy life, we’re not here long!

Back to it after a long Easter Bank Holiday break down Aberporth, West Wales.

Love it down there so relaxing and great quality family time.

Fishing, beach walks and board games with the kids… how my idea of relaxation has changed🤣

I forgot to take my beard trimmer with me though, so didn’t have a shave for six days🙈

I looked in the mirror yesterday and said to my wife ‘Look at the grey hairs in my beard🙈

‘It’s a privilege to grow old’ she said with a smile on her face.

Now I’m only 46 … but it really stuck with me!!

There are childhood friends who haven’t had this opportunity!
