When we launched the wmnsWORK Accelerator four years ago, we set out to create a program that would genuinely support women and non-binary tourism entrepreneurs as they built meaningful companies.
 
Since then, we’ve welcomed seven incredible cohorts and watched nearly 80 founders build stronger, more resilient businesses.
 
Along the way, we noticed something.
 
The biggest breakthroughs didn’t happen because someone learned one more business strategy.
 
They happened when founders had the time to test ideas, ask questions, receive feedback, make adjustments, and build meaningful relationships with the women+ entrepreneurs growing their businesses alongside them.
 
This realization has inspired our biggest change yet.
 
Beginning with Cohort 8, the wmnsWORK Accelerator is now six months long.
 
That means...
 
More time to implement.
More time for mentorship.
More time for accountability.
More space to build a business that actually feels sustainable.

We built something good.
Now we’re making it even better.

After four years of helping early-stage tourism entrepreneurs grow their businesses, we listened to our 70+ alumni and reflected on what creates the biggest breakthroughs. Here’s what we learned:

12 weeks wasn’t enough.

The biggest transformations don’t happen overnight. They happen with more time to test ideas, ask better questions, build momentum, and be supported through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

So for Cohort 8, we’re making our biggest change yet:

✨ 6 months of coaching, community, expert mentorship, and support.

Even better?

The investment stays exactly the same.

Cohort 8 is the only cohort that will receive double the time for the current price. After this cohort, the 6-month format is here to stay...but the investment will increase.

While the wmnsWORK team can brainstorm just about anywhere (including our usual Zoom screens!), there’s something about an IRL brainstorming session surrounded by nature that hits different.
 
A few weeks ago, we traded our usual virtual meetings for a day on the Toronto Islands, with our laptops in the shade, our feet in the water, and plenty of space to think.
 
It was the perfect reminder that stepping away from our desks can create room for our best ideas. We spent the day reflecting on what’s working, challenging each other’s thinking, celebrating wins, and planning what’s next for the incredible women+ and non-binary founders in our community (spoiler alert: it’s some VERY exciting stuff).
 
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is change your surroundings.

As Pride Month comes to a close, we’re celebrating the joy, resilience, and strength of the LGBTQ+ community - and recognizing that creating a more inclusive travel industry is work that continues every day.

As a queer-owned company, this month holds a special place in our hearts. We’re proud that more than 20% of the founders in the wmnsWORK community identify as LGBTQ+, and we’re incredibly grateful for partners like the IGLTA Foundation, whose ongoing support helps us create more opportunities for diverse founders and build a more inclusive future for travel.
