Living with ADHD can make getting and staying organised a challenge. Here are my top tips for getting your space sorted:
💡Label Items: Labeling is crucial for maintaining an organised space. Clearly label containers, drawers, and shelves to easily identify where items belong. This not only helps you find things more efficiently but also makes it simpler to put them back in their designated places, promoting ongoing organisation.
💡Open shelving: Consider using open shelving or taking doors off cupboards and wardrobes. This allows you to see items easily, reducing the chances of forgetting where things are stored.
💡Utilise Timers: Set timers to allocate specific time intervals for tasks. This can help manage time effectively and create a sense of urgency to stay on track.
💡Streamline Systems: Evaluate the steps involved in a task and eliminate any unnecessary ones. For instance, if folding clothes proves challenging, opt for labeled bins as a convenient solution for effortlessly tossing them in.
💡Declutter Regularly: The less you have the less you will need to organise and the easier it is to remember where things are. Setting a schedule to declutter will prevent build-up which can lead to overwhelm.
💡Reward Yourself: Aside from the satisfaction of a decluttered and organised space, treat yourself to a treat or a fun activity for all your hard work.
