On 26 August 2023, we held our first Annual Gathering Event as BME Social Work Connector under our company Social Care Empowering Training and Consultancy Ltd. This was the long-awaited event by all and we are happy to have reached this milestone. 51 social workers and their partners, 17 children and friends attended this amazing retreat at Staverton Hotel in Daventry. Our director Dr Makoni and team would like to thank you social workers and families who attended and were part of this journey as we marked our 1st Annual Gathering. We thank all the facilitators who made this retreat fun, exciting and insipiring. We look forward to meeting you all again on our Second Annual Gathering next year in 2024.

Over the weekend, we were honoured to join social workers in Somerset who arrived from Zimbabwe and South Africa. They have settled well and created a very good community. Welldone to Somerset social workers for organising such an inspiring and awesome event.
