Approximately 1 billion meals are wasted every day worldwide. This is unacceptable when there are 783 million people struggling with hunger. In 2022, 19% of the food produced globally was wasted, meaning approximately 1.05 billion tons of food went to waste. Households account for 60% of this waste. Each person wastes an average of 79 kg of food annually. This represents a significant loss, both environmentally and economically. To reduce food waste, it is important to develop conscious consumption habits and reduce waste.
