The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity ( ) has been invited to participate in a special women’s cyber games exhibition and competition. In the preparations to form the team that will compete in the Kunoichi Cyber Games, ENISA has created a training programme focusing on female players only.

ENISA has experience in forming and training teams who takes part every year in the International Cybersecurity Challenge ( ). The ICC is organised by ENISA, together with several international and regional organisations representing more than 80 countries in total.

The ICC is structured around what is called "Capture the Flag" ( ) competitions, which are a gamified way to enhance skills essential for cybersecurity related jobs.

The aim of the challenge is to attract young talent and raise awareness in the community globally on the and needed in the area of cybersecurity which is a main strand of actions under the EU-Japan Digital Partnership.

In a broader context, the March 15 Declaration of Ministers for , and calls strongly on increase technology and cyber skills.

Building a digitally secure society globally is of key importance, as cyber-attacks are not confined within geographical limits and can potentially affect everyone. The skills required to protect our society against modern threats and to mitigate their harm can scarcely be found in the market. Therefore, it is critical to educate and train future generations to enhance our society’s resilience and ensure a safe and secure cyberspace.
