The company was founded by Dan Gayle and before he started Peak Vantage Coaching & Consultancy™, he had a career in finance where he had roles including Risk Manager, Financial Analyst, and I
nvestment Analyst and Portfolio Manager. As a Financial Analyst for Citigroup he co-managed the finances for a $300m department which gave him hands-on experience with P&L’s, balance sheets, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Liaising with and presenting to C-Suite execs, MDs and Directors was incredibly valuable for his growth. As an Investment Analyst and Portfolio Manager with HSBC, he co-managed assets under management of $500m. This role was where he put his knowledge to work in analysing and valuing companies and constructing portfolios of assets for clients, and plus experiencing firsthand what the various growth levers are for company valuations. The assets he invested in included equities, bonds, commodities and property. Liaising with an even wider array of senior stakeholders was again super valuable - this included directors, sell-side analysts, investor relations, clients, and the overall investment team. The skills developed in these two roles were so valuable and he is incredibly grateful to both companies and the hiring managers for the opportunities. In addition to the IMC, he also passed levels 1 and 2 of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) qualification which really deepened his knowledge on a lot of complex financial topics. Even though he made all his academic choices to build a career in finance and banking, he didn’t have a calling for it or anything like that from a young age. It was his Dad who planted the seeds of it being “a good career” alongside some other options, and it was the one he liked to most so just went for it….HE FEELS VERY LUCKY indeed that he actually ended up loving it and really enjoying the field. In the latter part of his finance career working for big banks, he knew that he wanted to change paths to focus on something that helped others in a different way. He realised that combining his love of business, finance, personal development, performance & productivity, psychology, and maximising potential was possible, all under one umbrella, and this is how Peak Vantage Coaching & Consultancy™ came to be.
