Filed a claim in the NCAA House Settlement? Quick update 👇

The $2.576B back-damages fund is still on hold. Not because anything fell apart — because 11 appeals are now working through the 9th Circuit (way more than the “handful” most coverage still mentions), and there’s no ruling expected in 2026.

Two groups: one is fighting over how the money gets split (mostly Title IX). The other is challenging the roster-limit rules going forward.

Our best estimate for a first payout: 2028, maybe 2029.

The NCAA House Settlement's $2.576 billion in back damages is still on hold — and the number of appeals standing between that fund and your payout just grew. There are now 11 appeals pending before the Ninth Circuit (not the handful you may have seen mentioned before), and no ruling is expected before 2027.
