😋 How To Make a Baked Ziti Pasta Dish Layered With Sauce and Cheese 👇

🟠 Ingredients

▪ For The Pasta And Sauce:

▢ 2 tablespoons olive oil

▢ 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped

▢ 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped

▢ 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

▢ 5 cups marinara sauce (about 46 ounces)

▢ 1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more for seasoning

▢ Freshly ground black pepper

▢ 1 pound dried ziti or penne pasta

▪ For Assembly:

▢ 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese

▢ 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese, divided

▢ 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

▢ 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese (about 2 cups), divided

▪ Equipment

▢ Knife

▢ Wooden spoon or rubber spatula

▢ Large pot or Dutch oven

▢ Strainer or colander

▢ Large skillet or frying pan

▢ Cheese grater

🟠 Instructions

1. Heat the oven to 375°F. Arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat to 375°F. Cook the pasta and sauce while the oven is heating.

2. Boil the water. Bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil over medium-high heat. Meanwhile, make the sauce.

3. Cook the onions and garlic. Heat the oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat until shimmering. Add the onion, garlic, and pepper flakes, season with salt and pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 12 minutes.

4. Simmer the sauce. Add the marinara and 1 teaspoon salt, stir to combine, and bring to a simmer. Remove from the heat.

5. Cook the pasta. When the water is boiling, add the pasta and cook until just tender. While the pasta is cooking, make the ricotta filling.

6. Make the ricotta filling. Stir the ricotta, 1/4 cup of the Parmesan, and salt together in a small bowl; set aside.

7. Drain the pasta. When the pasta is ready, drain it in a colander or strainer.

8. Sauce the pasta. Return the pasta to the now-empty pot. Add half of the sauce (about 3 cups) and stir until the pasta is well-coated. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.

9. Fold in the ricotta. Add the ricotta mixture to the pasta and fold it in, leaving big pockets of ricotta here and there.

10. Layer the pasta. Transfer half of the pasta mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish and spread into an even layer. Evenly sprinkle with half of the mozzarella. Top with the remaining pasta in an even layer.

11. Layer the sauce and cheese. Pour the remaining sauce over the pasta and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle the surface evenly with the remaining mozzarella and remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan.

12. Bake the casserole. Bake uncovered until the edges are bubbling and the cheese is completely melted and browned in spots, about 30 minutes.

13. Cool the casserole. Remove the baking dish to a wire rack and let cool 15 minutes before serving.

🔴 Ingredients

▢ 2 cups heavy cream

▢ 1 cup whole milk

▢ ¾ cup granulated sugar

▢ Pinch salt

▢ 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

▪ Depending on machine: Ice and rock salt

▪ Optional toppings: strawberries, brownies, crushed oreos, hot fudge, caramel sauce

🔴 Instructions

1. Prep your ice cream machine according to package directions. Some machines require you to freeze the bowl first and others you will need to have ice and rock salt.

2. Combine heavy cream, milk, sugar, salt and vanilla in a bowl or the base of your ice cream container you plan to use.

3. When you're ready to make the ice cream, pour mixture into your ice cream maker bowl. Follow instructions for your specific machine. Turn on machine and let it churn until it looks like frozen yogurt (about 25 minutes). Store in an air tight container in the freezer to become firm.

4. Scoop into a bowl when ready to serve. Add desired toppings and enjoy.

😋 Chicken Club Pasta Salad 👇

🟡 Ingredients

▢ 8 ounces pasta uncooked, such as rigatoni, shells, rotini, penne

▢ 12 slices bacon cooked and crumbled up

▢ 2 cups chicken cooked and chopped

▢ 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved

▢ 1 cup cheddar cheese cut in ½-inch cubes

▢ 2 stalks celery chopped

▢ 1 medium green bell pepper chopped

▢ 1 cup Ranch dressing

🟡 Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add the pasta and cook for 10 to 12 minutes or until the pasta is al-dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.

2. Add the pasta to a large bowl followed by the rest of the ingredients including the dressing. Toss well until everything is evenly coated.

◾ tips & notes:

1. Salt your pasta water. Think salty like the sea. This is how you add flavor to the bland noodles. You want the pasta to absorb some of the salt as it cooks.

2. Don’t overcook the pasta. Pasta used in cold salads really needs to be al dente so it doesn’t get mushy when tossed with other ingredients and dressing.

3. Rinse the pasta. Don’t forget to rinse the pasta in cold water to stop the cooking process. You never want to add cold vegetables or cheese to hot pasta to make a cold salad. It can both wilt and melt them.

4. Don’t add salt. First, make the chicken and pasta salad and then season if needed. However, the bacon, cheese, cooked chicken, and ranch all have salt, so the salad likely won’t need any added.

5. Chicken club pasta salad will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days in an airtight container. Yet, this is a dish that does not freeze well. Yet, it’s not a big deal because it’s even better the next day and makes a fantastic lunch!

▢ Rapid Rise or Instant Yeast

▢ Granulated sugar

▢ Kosher salt

▢ Warm water (120° to 130°F)

▢ Pizza sauce

▢ Shredded mozzarella cheese

▢ Pepperoni or preferred topping

▢ Cornmeal if using a pizza stone

🟠 How To Make EASY Pizza Crust Dough!

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. If using a baking stone, place the baking stone in the oven while it preheats. Otherwise, lightly coat a pizza pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl stir together 1 cup of flour, dry yeast, sugar, and salt.

3. Add warm water and oil. Stir using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula for 1 minute.

4. Gradually add more flour to form a soft dough that holds together in a ball and is slightly sticky.

5. Knead on a floured surface for 4 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternately, you can do this in the bowl of your stand mixer. Mix the ingredients together with the paddle attachment, and then attach the dough hook to knead for 4 minutes on medium speed.

6. Cover with a clean towel and allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes.

7. Place the dough onto the prepared pizza pan. Or if you’re using a pizza stone to bake, I recommend doing this step on a floured pizza peel or a cutting board. Press the dough into a 12 – 15-inch circle.

8. Top with your pizza sauce, cheese, and topping(s).

9. Place the pizza pan into the oven, or if using a pizza stone, remove the stone from the oven and sprinkle with corn meal. Slide the pizza onto the stone and place back in the oven.

10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

▢ 1 pound pasta (such as penne, elbow, fusilli or rotini)

▢ 1 large green bell pepper (chopped)

▢ 1 cup cherry tomatoes (cut in half or quartered)

▢ 8 ounce salami (thickly sliced or cut in small pieces)

▢ 8 ounce bocconcini (mini, or cut in half or quarters if using regular size bocconcini)

▢ ½ medium red onion (finely chopped)

▢ 8 ounce spicy salami (thickly sliced or cut in small pieces)

▢ 8 ounce Monterey Jack cheese (cut in small cubes)

▢ ½ cup Kalamata olives (sliced)

▪ Italian Dressing

▢ 2 cloves garlic (minced)

▢ 2 tablespoons parsley (fresh, chopped)

▢ 2 tablespoons oregano (fresh, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried oregano))

▢ 2 tablespoons basil (fresh, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried basil))

▢ ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

▢ ½ cup olive oil

▢ 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar

▢ 2 tablespoons lemon juice

1. Cook your chosen pasta according to the package instructions, ensuring to salt the water generously. Drain the pasta in a colander without rinsing.

2. In a bowl or jar, combine garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, olive oil, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix or shake until slightly emulsified.

3. In a large bowl, combine pasta, green bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, both types of salami, bocconcini, red onion, Monterey Jack cheese, and Kalamata olives. Pour the salad dressing over the salad. ▢ 1/4 cup hot sauce (or to taste)

▢ 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

▢ 1/3 cup beer, wine or broth

▢ 2 tablespoons lemon juice (~1/2 lemon)

▢ 2 teaspoons creole seasoning

▢ 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

▢ 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined *

▢ 2 tablespoons butter, chilled and cut into 1/2 inch pieces

▢ salt to taste

🟠 Directions

1. Melt the butter in a pan over medium-high heat, add the garlic, saute until fragrant, about 30 seconds, add the hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, beer, lemon juice, creole seasoning and pepper, bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce is reduced by half, about 5-7 minutes.
