RareFounders - The London Startup Scene Rare Founders builds rooms where startup founders and investors meet without fluff.

From small dinners to London’s biggest demo days, we focus on real conversations, strong deal flow, and lessons from the front line of building companies. This is a London chapter of RareFounders - The London Startup Scene - regular events that brings together hundreds of London startup founders, investors, and other industry professionals. The event is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and build valuable networks in the startup community.

- RareFounders - The London Startup Scene is an informal and networking-focused event.
- Each event we are expecting over 250 attendees, with 60% of them being founders, 15% investors, and 25% other industry professionals.
- Founders and investors will have the opportunity to do a one-minute pitch during the event. Bringing more world changing business ideas to live by building the bridge between founders and investors, through harnessing the power of founders and investor community.

On 6 October, we’re bringing 27 traction-led startups from the UK and Belgium to pitch at the Belgian Ambassador’s Residence in London.

We picked them from 300+ applications. After the pitches, we’ll keep the conversations going over drinks.

Tonight, we’re bringing together two people who’ve helped build, scale, fundraise, and navigate that journey from different sides of the table.

✨ Daniel Glazer is a Partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the Silicon Valley law firm that has supported some of the world’s most successful technology companies, including Google, Apple, Monzo, Attio and thousands of venture-backed startups. Daniel has spent years helping founders navigate fundraising, expansion, and growth between the UK and US ecosystems.

✨ Ihar Valodzin is the founder of ListAlpha, which was acquired by Carta . Having built and scaled a company internationally, Ihar brings firsthand experience of the realities of expanding into the US, fundraising, growth challenges, and what founders often don’t see coming until they’re in the middle of it.

Today is a big day for SoPhy: Network Intelligence - we’re testing it at our event with 250 people.

To say I’m stressing is an understatement.
Last night my CTO pushed the final updates and bug fixes to TestFlight. The usual 30-minute approval suddenly turned into 5 hours, which killed our window to test and fix anything before submitting to the App Store.

Then this morning, Apple rejected the update - I almost had a heart attack. Turned out to be a minor error and it got approved within minutes. Now we’re at the mercy of Apple to push the update live in time for tonight.
We just have to hope nothing breaks.

This is our first real test at scale. Hard not to have expectations after everything we’ve put into it, but ultimately it’s a learning process. I just hope our audience is patient with us - at the end of the day, we’re building it for them.

Wish me luck tonight. Will report back tomorrow.
