BREAKING NEWS

UK inflation - the rate at which prices are rising - jumps to 9.4% in year to June.

Prices are continuing to rise at their fastest rate for 40 years driven by petrol, energy and food costs.

Last month's figures showed that inflation climbed to 9.1% in the 12 months to May - the highest since March 1982. It's expected to reach 11% this year.
