Has Piers Morgan’s challenge changed how people view Earl Spencer’s Diana book, or simply given them another reason to believe what they already wanted to?

Following her comments in the i Paper, founder Lauren explores the divided online reaction, the Palace’s response and why one factual error can cast doubt over an entire book without disproving its wider claims.

Founder Lauren spoke to Business Insider about Sydney Sweeney, Novig and the not-so-subtle art of outrage marketing.

If you’re angry about the Sydney Sweeney ad, commenting on it, sharing it with friends, reposting it to explain why you hate it or arguing about it online, there’s a pretty funny reality: you’re doing exactly what Sydney and the team at Novig wanted you to do.

That’s outrage marketing. You create something provocative enough that people can’t resist talking about it, and suddenly the people criticising the campaign are doing just as much of the marketing as the people who love it.

Sydney has an equity stake in Novig and was involved in the creative, so this wasn’t simply a celebrity turning up, shooting an ad and going home. She knew what she was doing.

As Lauren told Business Insider, “Attention and sales aren’t the same thing.” But you probably never heard of Novig before this campaign… But you have now.

It might p**s you off, but it’s smart. And Sydney is very, very good at this.

Founder Lauren recently spoke at a women in business event, sharing her experience of building a career in crisis PR and reputation management.

The conversation covered everything from cancel culture and defamation to controversial clients, the realities of reputation management and getting started in the industry.

One reminder Lauren shared on the night was that in crisis PR, some of the work you’re most proud of will never be seen publicly. Often, the best outcome is exactly that, keeping something private, contained and out of the spotlight.

“Not every career highlight makes it to Instagram. Some you sign an NDA for.”

Founder Lauren spoke with BBC News about Selena Gomez, celebrity businesses and what happens when family, money and reputation collide.

From the risks of mixing family and business, to why a bad headline doesn’t necessarily mean lasting reputational damage, Lauren shared her take on where celebrities can protect themselves before things go wrong.

As she told the BBC: “A family relationship shouldn’t be a company’s governance structure.”

G’day Aus 🇦🇺

Founder Lauren spoke on Weekend Sunrise, acquiring a new title in the process: Royal Communications Expert. 👑

Lauren discussed Harry and Meghan’s reported return to the UK, whether they will be accepted by the British public, how they can rebuild trust and whether the move represents a failure of their American reinvention.

Her view? Their projects achieved significant commercial attention, but that attention did not translate into public trust. A successful return will require consistency, clearer boundaries and less public discussion of private family relationships.

Lauren also addressed the relentless nature of some British press coverage. Harry and Meghan have made questionable communications decisions, but poor PR does not justify disproportionate or dehumanising treatment.
