A segment should change what you decide to do next.

That's the part I think gets missed.

It's easy to look at a Klaviyo flow and ask whether the overall number looks good.

But who is actually behind that number?

A new customer isn't the same as a repeat customer.

Someone who clicked recently isn't the same as someone who hasn't engaged in months.

And if they're all sitting inside the same analysis, the average can hide the difference that actually matters.

I don't think the answer is to create dozens of segments.

The better question is:

Will splitting this audience change the decision?

If yes, the segment is useful.

If not, you're probably just creating another filter to look at.

That's the approach I'd take before changing a flow, campaign, or audience.

Klaviyo flow not working? A flow can be live and still have a problem.

That’s what we looked at with Bell Tent Sussex.

The flow existed. The emails were there. Klaviyo was reporting activity.

But “live” is only a technical status.

It doesn’t tell you whether the right people are entering the flow, whether the timing makes sense, or whether the journey is behaving the way you intended.

That’s why it’s worth checking the setup behind the number:

**Trigger → filters → timing → flow logic → message sequence**

Before adding another flow, understand what the existing one is actually doing.

The free Klaviyo Self-Check helps you review your setup and tells you where to look.

Klaviyo's dashboard is useful. It gives you the numbers you need to see what happened.

But the dashboard can't always show you what's happening inside the setup that produced those numbers.

A flow can be live while the trigger, timing, filters, or sequence create a problem.

A metric can look healthy while the underlying customer experience isn't.

And when several flows touch the same subscriber, looking at each flow in isolation can miss the interaction between them.

That's why I like starting with the setup behind the number:

Trigger → timing → filters → flow logic → message sequence

The dashboard tells you where something changed. The next step is knowing where to look.

The free Klaviyo Self-Check helps you review your setup and tells you where to look.

More traffic isn’t always the answer.

If you’re already paying to acquire customers, the bigger opportunity may be what happens **after the sale**.

Post-purchase. Cross-sell. Replenishment. Winback.

A strong lifecycle turns one purchase into repeat revenue—and helps you grow the customers you already have.

That’s what we build at AURORA.

Klaviyo Composer public beta explained: what AI can decide about your Shopify email flows, and what it can’t.

Composer went to public beta on 30 June. You describe the campaign, it builds audience, copy, email and SMS. Nothing sends without approval.

It’s a genuinely useful tool. It also builds on top of whatever account it finds, and it doesn’t ask whether that account is set up correctly. That’s not its job.

If two of your flows are already competing for the same subscriber, a generated campaign becomes the third message rather than the fix.

The half of the work AI made almost free was always the easy half. Deciding what not to send is the part that’s left.

The prompt covers flow conflicts. It won’t look at your triggers, exclusions or integrations, because you didn’t tell it to.

Comment AUDIT and I’ll send you both — the prompt and the free Klaviyo Self-Check.

Five things we’d kill in your Klaviyo before adding a single flow.
Agencies are paid to add. We get the bigger wins by deleting.
01 — Campaigns sent to “All Subscribers.” Engagement-blind sending kills your sender reputation faster than anything else.
02 — Welcome flows that open with 20% off. You’ve just trained every customer to wait for a discount.
03 — 5-email cart sequences. After email 3 you’re harvesting unsubscribes, not recovering carts.
04 — Browse abandonment with a discount code. A tax on the cheapest revenue you’ll ever earn.
05 — Birthday emails to 90-day non-openers. The open rate looks great while the deliverability quietly dies.
Most Klaviyo accounts don’t need more. They need less, better.
Comment KILL or DM me “KILL” and I’ll send the full kill-list checklist we run on every audit.

Most Shopify loyalty programs aren’t lifting repeat purchase rate because they’re built like discount engines, not retention systems.

5 rules from setting up Smile + Klaviyo programs on real stores:
→ Build it as retention strategy, not a discount
→ Calibrate earn-to-redeem to your real AOV
→ Connect Smile and Klaviyo (the integration most skip)
→ Build the 3 flows your program actually needs
→ Measure repeat purchase rate, not enrollment

Recognized 2+ of these in your own setup? Your program isn’t broken — it’s just unfinished. Full breakdown + the fix for each on the blog (link in bio).

We build the complete version: configured tiers, the Smile ↔ Klaviyo integration, the required flows, post-launch support. One-time, no retainer.

If your Klaviyo has 15 flows, half of them are probably ghost towns. 👻

A Shopify brand doesn’t need 15 mediocre flows. It needs 7 well-built ones — the seven that actually move revenue. Swipe through 👉

01 Welcome — captures subscribers at peak intent
02 Abandoned cart — pair with SMS, double recovery
03 Browse abandonment — softer nudge, no discount
04 Post-purchase — where the 2nd sale (and margin) lives
05 Win-back — reactivate before they churn
06 Sunset — quietly protects the entire program
07 Birthday — highest open rates in the account

Most accounts we audit have 3 built well, 2 built badly, and 2 missing entirely. The fix isn’t writing more emails — it’s killing what doesn’t work and rebuilding what’s missing with proper triggers and exclusions.

A tuned 7-flow stack typically drives 60–70% of total Klaviyo revenue. If your ratio is reversed — 80% campaigns, 20% flows — you’re working too hard.

Comment FLOWS and I’ll send the full setup guide.
