Hi mums 👋

Apart from working as a maternity nurse👩🏻‍🍼and sleep consultant 💤😴
I also like to invest my time into doing research in order to better support mums with their newborns.

Women prepare for birth and are cared for during their pregnancy but the health of the mother post-birth is equally important, not only to the health of her baby but also for her own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. New parents should be far better informed and prepared for what comes after their baby’s arrival. New mothers need to be supported during the first 6 weeks postnatally, which are so critical, yet all mums I work with report that they feel abandoned by the healthcare system and are left to figure things out by themselves. They also receive very conflicting advice from medical professionals which is quite shocking.

My aim is to change the way this operates in the UK as there is clearly a massive gap in the postnatal care system!

🙏 Help to make a change for future parents-to-be by sharing your thoughts in the comments below👇

What information or help do you feel could have been useful for you? What is lacking in your opinion?

Thank you for everyone’s input and for sharing such personal experiences with the rest of us. 🙌💞

As we all know, lack of sleep 🥱 causes impaired concentration and irritability, and over time it can have very serious health implications. For children, proper sleep is especially critical as it affects mood, behaviour and energy levels, it’s that fuel their little body needs. It also helps growing brains retain new information and even increases their creative side.

💤 Good quality sleep, just like diet and exercise are vital to good health but especially when it comes to child development.

Unsurprisingly and for good reason, babies spend over 50% of their 24 hour day sleeping.😴 Sleep plays an essential role in the growth of brain tissue. During sleep, connections between different parts of the brain are established and strengthened.

😴💤 The gift of sleep - a gift voucher for all baby care needs is the best present you can give to new parents! 🙏🙌

New parents are faced with so much conflicting advice regarding how to care for their baby, which can be quite overwhelming. There are lots of different approaches to infant care and my job is to help parents find what works best for them, including debunking many common baby-care myths during the newborn period, all of which can unnecessarily confuse parents and make them feel anxious and doubtful. With my guidance and support, you will become fully confident in your own parenting abilities. You will enjoy being a new mum/dad by being able to read your baby’s cues and attune to their needs which will only help in strengthening the bond between you. 🤱👩🏻‍🍼

For the first few months, your newborn will need to be fed regularly throughout the day and night. Having a new baby is no doubt exhausting🥱and mums often drift off while feeding their baby and may not have the energy to spend extra time on winding or settling them. This can result in the baby waking again within a short period of time and needing more winding and another top-up feed.

👩🏻‍🍼WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HIRING A NIGHT NANNY?🌛

✅ A Night Nanny will help you get through the early weeks and months so you can get all the rest you need to recover mentally and physically from the stresses of labor and delivery.
✅ A Night Nanny will make sure everything stays on track overnight and help you establish good feeding patterns and instill positive sleep associations for your baby.
✅ Leaving your baby in the hands of a professional, you will be able to sleep much better.
✅ A Night Nanny will help you avoid severe sleep deprivation by allowing you to have a restful night’s sleep. 💤
✅ If you decide to exclusively breastfeed your baby, the Night Nanny can bring your newborn to you when it’s feeding time, and once they’re finished, she can wind and settle them again so you can continue to rest.😴
✅ She can guide and support you through all the early concerns you may have.

As soon as you return home from the hospital, I can help you get settled, assist and advice you on breast, bottle or combination feeding, help with changing, clipping your baby’s sharp nails and eventually bathing your baby and provide compete care for your newborn. I will also demonstrate the best techniques for winding your baby, give you advice on colic, reflux and teach you how to create the best environment for sleep. I will care for your baby overnight from 9pm through to 7am with some flexibility if needed, so that the extra sleep you get will allow you to be at your best and provide the highest level of care possible for your little bundle of joy during the day! 👶

💫 Send me a DM to find out about my current availability or to request a FREE discovery call. 📞

❓What does “sleep begets sleep” mean? It means that if your baby naps well throughout the day, they will sleep better at night. Babies need sleep in order to get more sleep.

❌ MYTH: “If I keep my baby up for longer, they will take a good long nap or sleep better at night.”

Lots of mums falsely believe that if their baby gets too much sleep during the day, their babies won’t sleep well during the night. The opposite is true! Overtired babies get an adrenaline surge which it turn causes frequent night wakes and/or early rising.

✅ FACT: Keeping baby up all day in order to get them to sleep well at night just doesn’t work! Young babies need a lot of sleep. Make sure you stick to the age appropriate number of naps and awake times. 💤😴

❣️It’s mental health awareness week.
❓Is lack of sleep affecting your metal health?

As we are all aware, there is a close relationship between our mental health and sleep and poor quality of sleep can have a negative impact on your mental health. There is more and more evidence showing that and lower quality of sleep and sleep deprivation play a role in the development of postpartum depression. And the worse sleep becomes for new mums the higher the risk can be.

💫The great news is, there is lots of help out there, all you have to do is reach out. So make that first step and ask for help! 🙏

You don’t and shouldn’t have to do it alone! I’ve got your back! 🙌 🌈
