Hi mums 👋
Apart from working as a maternity nurse👩🏻🍼and sleep consultant 💤😴
I also like to invest my time into doing research in order to better support mums with their newborns.
Women prepare for birth and are cared for during their pregnancy but the health of the mother post-birth is equally important, not only to the health of her baby but also for her own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. New parents should be far better informed and prepared for what comes after their baby’s arrival. New mothers need to be supported during the first 6 weeks postnatally, which are so critical, yet all mums I work with report that they feel abandoned by the healthcare system and are left to figure things out by themselves. They also receive very conflicting advice from medical professionals which is quite shocking.
My aim is to change the way this operates in the UK as there is clearly a massive gap in the postnatal care system!
