Tomorrow I’m making my third business trip to New York spreading the F*ck Being Humble message state side 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

People are often surprised when they find out I don’t have a team helping, it’s just me, a healthy dose of self-belief, optimistically overcommitting, and figuring it out along the way…++ lots of last minute planning 😅

I know this might sound morbid ☠️ but answering this question has improved my personal brand massively, and here’s why….

Until reflecting on this question, I’d been really focussed on reaching career milestones. 📈

But then I realised, I don’t want my CV highlights to be read out my funeral lol ☠️ I want people to celebrate my actions, my values and my character.

When I thought about the things I wanted to be remembered for, generosity is the word that kept popping up.

So this year, I’ve been thinking about how I can be more generous with my time. And as a result I have:

❤️ Created better quality ideas
❤️ Helped more people around the world
❤️ Connected with people on a deeper level
❤️ Developed new skills and grown confidence in myself

I’ve stopped only thinking about how people see me in the present moment, and I’ve started thinking about how my actions today could leave a positive legacy.

This question has 10000% improved my personal brand and it’s why I’m sharing it with you today.

Last week I lost 4 opportunities, spent two days crying about it and I’m still not over the sting of it.

And next week, I’m hosting an event on how to bounce back from rejection….(talk about timing….🤣)

I wanted to share this experience because I’ve been writing my presentation slides for next week’s event, and I know how difficult getting a no is and I know how much it can strip away our confidence to chase after the things we want.

From 500 nominees, I’ve been named as one of the Top 50 Workplace Leaders in the UK!! 🇬🇧 The list celebrates inspiring leaders, innovators, pioneers, and changemakers of the workplace today.

New research shows that men are getting access to better opportunities and salaries because they have more Linkedin testimonials than women.

The data showed men with recommendations on their public profiles earn 20% more on average than those without. 😱😱😱

So guess what I want you to do? GO ASK FOR LINKEDIN TESTIMONIALS. ✅

Ask mentors, peers, clients, customers, colleagues, bosses and previous co-workers to write you a review because you are brilliant.

And as I explained in the interview with WorkLife be really intentional with the questions you ask so you get the best feedback.

⚠️ Warning ⚠️ if you read my book it might be so hard to put down that you have to hide the title from your kids using post it’s….literally my most favourite book review ever 😅

I get a lot of amazing opportunities from my book, but you DON’T need a book deal to get amazing results.

You just need the courage to put something out in the world that people can benefit from, so here’s my tips to get started:

1️⃣ Create a digital product / PDF that can be purchased by anyone and anywhere in the world that shares your knowledge or your expertise

2️⃣ Make the price accessible like a book £10-15 something that most people can afford and make it a seamless purchasing experience

3️⃣ Send it new connections, promote or socials or suggest it to people who are considering working with you.

There is no big difference between doing this and then having a book deal. Both add value, both showcase your skills, both create opportunities.

Plus it’s passive income in your sleep 😴 so add this to your list of things that will help position you as an expert.

What are you hinting at with what you share?

I recently attended a .world event where spoke about her strategy to creating more opportunities for herself and I loved this question so much I had to share.

She explained that things she shares on her social media and in social situations right now are all things she wants to achieve in the near future. She’s planting the seeds so when she launches her next idea, you already associate her with that topic.

Such a simple reminder that self-promotion and telling your story is not just about the attracting things right now, it’s about what you want to attract in the future.
