🚨 We got there before it got serious.
During one of our routine mobile patrols at a vacant unit—a former refrigerated food facility—our officer detected a strong smell of burning. Trusting his instincts, he followed the scent to the walk-in refrigerators and found the area filling with smoke.
He acted quickly, alerting the fire brigade, who arrived promptly. The cause? Refrigerator motors had overheated and caught fire due to
continuous running and lack of maintenance since the site was vacated.
The fire crew confirmed that if it had been left unchecked for just another hour, the entire warehouse could have gone up in flames.
This is a clear example of why vacant property inspections are critical. A regular presence can prevent disaster.
