Had to take a minute to let this marinate because…

😮‍💨 The rage the overcame me! I am absolutely gutted and infuriated to see yet another example of overt racism rear its ugly head. It’s appalling that in 2024, a Tory donor feels entitled to spew vile, racist comments about Diane Abbott, a powerhouse Black woman MP. Donating to a Hindu PM doesn’t absolve anyone of racism—it’s about actions, not proximity.

We cannot turn a blind eye to the systemic racism and sexism that Black women like Diane Abbott face daily. It’s both overt and covert, and it’s sickening. And where is the accountability from our current PM? His silence speaks volumes. He is complicit!

Enough is enough. We need immediate action to dismantle hate, white privilege, white supremacy, and white fragility.
We must be allies in this fight—so, white people and men, how will you step up?
How will you actively dismantle these structures of oppression?

Tired of repeating myself but…the time for change is now.

⏳ January Recap

🌱 During this month, I embraced a period of rest, reset, and reflection, focusing on my priorities for 2024. Surprisingly, new doors opened, leading me to a profound full-circle moment.

🗣️ I had the privilege of speaking to my old high school’s 17-year-olds, guiding them as they embark on the final two years of high school.

🎤 The honor continued as I returned to address the entire school community—450+ students, 25+ teachers, and parents—alongside the newly elected prefects. Sharing insights on leadership, I cherished the opportunity to impart wisdom gained from my journey, emphasizing resilience, emotional intelligence, endurance, and kindness.

🙏🏾 This full-circle experience allowed me to revisit both the highs and lows of my past, contributing valuable lessons to the next generation.

👊🏾 Excited about the future, I eagerly anticipate my role in youth development.

P.s. Always wanted to have a DC Shield with my name on it and now I have one! 🙏🏾

💫 I'm officially out of the office until 2024.

During this time, I won't be scheduling any new meetings as I embark on a journey of self-care and introspection.

Restoration and Reflection
💭🤔 Looking back at 2023, it was a challenging year healthwise, marked by a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Dealing with a life-threatening condition, compounded by persistent pain, made it difficult for me to consistently present my best self.

🧭 Navigating daily life became a formidable task, leaving me both frustrated and emotionally drained. Recognizing the toll it took on my well-being, I've decided to make my health the top priority. After all, they say .

Preparation
➡️ As I step into this hiatus, my focus shifts towards preparing for the opportunities and challenges that 2024 may bring.

💪🏾I am determined to reemerge, showcasing the best version of myself and what I do best. The decision to take this break wasn't made lightly; it required courage and introspection. Yet, I am confident that prioritizing my well-being now is the key to future success.

🙏🏾 Let's reconvene in 2024 with renewed energy and a refreshed perspective. Wishing you all a wonderful conclusion to 2023.

💡 As I’ve been reflecting on the last couple of years, a theme began to emerge;
the past, left unattended, has a way of reclaiming the present. While glancing in the rearview mirror is a journey in itself, stagnation resides in parking there, casting shadows over the path ahead.

🔎 I realised that reflection is not mere nostalgia; it’s an emotional dance between acknowledging missteps and celebrating triumphs.
👉🏾 The mistakes, like stepping stones, pave a path forward, and the progress, a testament to resilience, becomes a compass guiding me toward a brighter future.
