Let’s talk about one of the toughest parts of running a business—managing a team and keeping communication tight. 💬
Recently, I had a situation that really hit hard. A project didn’t go as planned, and it all boiled down to one thing: lack of communication. A simple task took too long, deadlines were missed, and by the time we realized it, the damage was done. The client decided to walk away. 😣
Here’s the thing: It wasn’t about the team’s ability to handle the work—they’re brilliant at what they do. The problem was that we weren’t keeping each other in the loop. We have a bloody fast resolution time to resolve certain tasks, but if no one’s talking or checking in, things slip through the cracks. And in business, that’s a recipe for disaster.
I had to make some tough decisions, and scale down the team, because responsiveness just wasn’t there. It wasn’t an easy call, but sometimes you have to make the tough choices to keep the whole ship running. 🚢
Here’s what I’ve learned: If your team isn’t communicating clearly and regularly, your business can’t function at its best. We all want to deliver amazing results, but that’s impossible without open, proactive conversations.
If you’re in a similar spot—feeling like things are starting to slip—don’t wait until it’s too late. Take a step back, figure out where the breakdown is, and don’t be afraid to make changes. Your business can only grow if your team is moving in sync.
