Confidence Journey: It's a Marathon, Not a Sprint!

💡 Mum, when I'm confident, I play very well. I play so well in training, but when it comes to game time, it's a different story." This was my teenager talking to me about his confidence.

🤔 Got me thinking that confidence affects us in every area, from sports to business. Your confidence—or the lack of it—affects our performance. Whether it's sports or starting a business, we all go through those ups and downs, feeling super sure one moment and unsure the next.

🤦‍♀️ I remember my early business days. Spent hours perfecting 1-minute Instagram videos, only to look back and cringe at how robotic they were! Learned the hard way that 'done is better than perfect.' Imperfect action beats no action any day!

🚀 The way I built my confidence was to become self-aware of my negative voice and change it for a kinder and more positive version. I've invested in different coaches and mentors, reading books, and took time to learn and practice some techniques that helped me in this journey.

🏃‍♀️ It was not a sprint journey, more like a marathon that never ends. But, the more you run, the more confident you get.

⚽ Regarding my son, he’s trying out confidence-boosting tricks like visualizing success and practicing more. And as for his Arsenal dreams (sorry to the rivals!), we'll see how that goes!

STOP WISHING! START DOING...

🎸 I wish I had learned to play an instrument when I was younger. Growing up, I was surrounded by music, thanks to my dad's natural talent for playing various instruments. He could effortlessly switch from strumming melodies on the guitar or ukulele to creating rhythmic beats on the tambourine or drums. And he was so willing to teach me, but I wasn't interested.

🤦‍♀️ What do you wish you would have done in the past, and do you still think about it sometimes?

🔙 Perhaps choosing a different career path, quitting 'that' job, leaving an unfulfilling relationship earlier, moving country, starting a business…

The truth is, we can wish as much as we like that we have made different choices in the past, followed a different path, or learned different things. However, this won't change a thing because there is no transformation in the past.

❓ The crucial question remains: do you have clarity on what you genuinely want? Or are you merely adhering to societal trends and expectations of what you should be, do, or have to find fulfillment?

🤔 Reflecting on missed opportunities like not learning to play an instrument in my youth or pondering on past decisions, such as career choices or relationships, can sometimes leave us wishing for a different outcome.

📅 Every day you spend wishing and not taking action toward what would make you happier and more fulfilled means drifting further from what you truly want with each passing day.

☹️ Are you feeling overwhelmed because you are trying to do too many things at the same time and don't complete any?

1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ Break down your goal in small achievable steps and you will see progress, and then you will feel motivated, then you will be encouraged to keep going

😱If you want to increase your confidence, you can use the same concept. The goal is to increase your confidence. What are the small steps you can take towards it?

👧If you are not sure, think you are giving advice to a child in relation to the area you don't feel confident about. Eg talk to strangers. What would you tell her to do? Think about body language and anything else that comes to mind.

🙋‍♀️ Now, use this advice to yourself. Remember, one small tiny little step is better than nothing.

🙋‍♀️ We are responsible to set our own boundaries, otherwise people cannot be blamed for things they are not aware of.

🗣️ Sharing 3 more tips here to help you to set boundaries and live a more fulfilling life:

1. Say no when you don't want to do something or don't have the energy. You don't have to justify your decision. You will be surprised that people will find it ok.

2. Accept with grace that other people with firm boundaries will say no to you too and notice how you feel. They are not rejecting you, just your request. Likewise, you are not been mean to anyone when saying no, you are just putting your needs and wants first.

3. Prioritize time for yourself and communicate with everyone who relies on you (kids, partner, friends, relatives) that you will be busy at certain day/time.
