UK Black Women be the blueprint’ ✨🎤👉🏽🌶️
That’s what was running through my mind last Tuesday listening to Leanne Pero MBE and Candice Brathwaite-Aboderin talk with sheer honesty about what our lives look and feel like in 2026; we out here workinggg, giving, protecting, advocating, sharing and looking fine af whatever our age or number.
HOWEVER, the theme of the (gorgeous) breakfast invite was Nourish and Thrive. You literally can’t pour from an empty cup, which means our self care needs to be ten ten.
Now my self care game is goodttt, everyone who knows me will tell you this. What I wasn’t banking on was the 15 min breath work we did, that took me out. I mean from the pit of my tummy the tears rose up and I couldn’t stop them - lesson here, we don’t breathe deep enough, we hold stress and trauma in our bodies without realising it. I wasn’t the only one, we felt it ripple deeply across the room.
Candice Brathwaite-Aboderin said that morning, she know’s she’s in credit, she’s done enough, she can afford to rest when it’s necessary. It’s now my new mantra 🕉️ I’m in CREDIT 💡& breathe goddam it, deeper & for longer.
This room was also FULL of joy, love, food, happiness, support and future ambitions & the celebration of us all creating safe spaces for women to be held.
I felt so safe I didn’t want to leave. But I did eventually lol, with the best goodie bag ever received thanks to The Estée Lauder Companies Jo Malone London Oner Active and more ✨
Thank you again Leanne Pero MBE love and adore you, to The Estée Lauder Companies for hosting, to all my queens, love our pics 🥺
This was a celebration of Leanne Pero MBE being 10 years cancer free and of all the amazing work Black Women Rising UK do. CHECK your breasts - we don’t do it enough. Having a feel saves lives, go feel dem!
