We’re proud to support two exciting Suburban Legends projects as part of Market Town & Havering Unearthed, celebrating the myths, memories and hidden histories of Romford Market 💜
📣 Suburban Legends: Share Your Romford Stories
Take part in a free creative workshop exploring the stories, folklore, memories and myths that Romford and its market have inspired across generations - past and present, real and imagined.
A chance for local people, schools, colleges and community groups to help uncover and shape the stories at the heart of Romford.
🎭 Suburban Legends: Be Part of a Live Market Celebration
We’re also looking for 100 local people (18+) to become costumed characters and help bring Romford Market to life on Saturday 29 August 2026, as part of the Greenwich + Docklands International Festival.
No experience needed - just enthusiasm and a connection to Romford. Full support, costumes and creative direction provided. Key dates apply.
🌟 Open to individuals and groups including community organisations, theatre groups, choirs and dance companies.
