New Parent Information Leaflet Available

We’re pleased to share our new Parent Information Leaflet about neonatal repatriation, co-produced with service users and staff who have direct experience of repatriations.

This resource has been developed to help families understand what to expect if repatriation becomes part of their baby’s neonatal journey, and to support them through the process.

The leaflet includes:
• An explanation of what repatriation is
• How to get ready for a transfer
• Information about the Neonatal Transport Service (NTS) (with a virtual tour of the ambulance coming soon)
• Parent top tips
• Advice on looking after yourself during this time

A big thank you to the families and staff who shared their experiences to help shape this resource. 💙

📚💜 Celebrating World Book Day in our Neonatal Units 💜📚

"The NICU is so crowded, and a hard place to be. Reading to my baby was a minute of intimacy that I really needed."

When reading to your baby, you can read anything that you feel comfortable with. Some parents choose a baby book, in their native language, perhaps the novel they are reading, a religious text or the newspaper. A nice way of including siblings who aren't always able to visit is by letting them choose a book to be read to their baby brother or sister.
