Strategy vs. Tactics: Lowering Costs and Driving Results
The word "strategy" is often misunderstood as just a plan. In reality, it’s much more than that. While strategy sets the goal – to win the battle – tactics are the steps that explain how we’ll win that battle.
For a successful marketing campaign, strategy dictates the overall vision, while tactics are the detailed actions that bring that vision to life. Both are critical for delivering results.
Earlier this year, from May to June, we partnered with a client in the finance sector across Latin America. They had been heavily focused on Google Ads because their previous Facebook campaigns had resulted in a cost per lead that was simply too high. However, with our extensive experience in similar finance projects, we saw an opportunity to do things differently.
After thoroughly analyzing their past campaigns – reviewing everything from ad creatives to copy, targeting, and URLs – we recommended a strategic shift. We proposed a messaging-based funnel specifically tailored to engage their audience, while simultaneously optimizing their existing Google efforts.
The result? We significantly reduced their cost per lead, optimized their campaigns for better performance, and saw a marked improvement in conversions across Facebook. The funnel we implemented didn’t just generate leads; it effectively converted those leads into clients. We demonstrated to our client that when done right, you can achieve impressive results, even on platforms they had previously discounted.
Yes, Google and Meta platforms need different approaches and tactics. When done the right way, great results follow.
Success isn’t about sticking to old beliefs; it’s about being open to new tactics and trusting the strategy behind them.
