Oman and Iran talk up a Hormuz corridor
Oman's foreign minister met his Iranian counterpart in Tehran on Tuesday, describing a temporary Hormuz shipping corridor and a joint project to clear its mines.
Iran wasted no time qualifying it: officials said the strait stays closed regardless, dismissing Washington's claim that the mines are gone as an attempt to calm markets. The market leaned into the optimism anyway, even with a tanker disabled off Oman's coast the night before.
Winter 26 power and gas both eased on the day, down 2.36% and 2.6%, while day-ahead gas told a different story, up 2.47%, pricing near-term risk the season is now looking past. Storage, 17.7 percentage points under its five year norm, has not moved with the mood.
