đź’ˇ Tip of the Week: Start Meetings with 3 Simple Questions

Small changes in communication can create a more inclusive experience for everyone.

Before starting a meeting, try sharing:

📌 What is the purpose?
📌 What decisions need to be made?
📌 What happens next?

This simple habit can help:
âś” Reduce uncertainty
âś” Improve focus and participation
âś” Support different processing styles
âś” Create clearer expectations

Inclusive communication doesn’t need to be complicated.

Small structure. Big impact.

💡 Tip of the Week: Ask what helps — don’t assume

One of the most powerful ways to support wellbeing and inclusion is surprisingly simple:

Ask:
👉 “What would help you do your best work?”

Small conversations can unlock:
âś” Better communication
âś” Greater psychological safety
âś” Improved wellbeing
âś” More effective support

Support doesn’t always mean making big changes — often it starts with listening and being open to different ways of working.

Small questions. Big impact.

💬 Tourette’s Awareness Month

This month, we’re taking time to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and support more inclusive conversations around Tourette’s.

Tourette’s is a neurological condition that can affect people in different ways and is often misunderstood.

At Neurodiversity Specialists, we believe support starts with:
âś” Building awareness and understanding
âś” Challenging assumptions and reducing stigma
âś” Encouraging psychologically safe environments
âś” Focusing on strengths as well as support needs

Creating inclusive environments benefits everyone — whether at work, in education, or within communities.

Throughout the month we’ll be sharing practical information, resources, and conversations to help build greater understanding.

đź’™ Inclusion begins with awareness.

🌿 We were delighted to be part of the recent DBAS Family Weekend and contribute to such a meaningful initiative supporting families and creating opportunities for learning, connection, and open conversation.

Daniel Brooke had the opportunity to talk and answer questions on Neurodiversity & Chronic Conditions — exploring how neurodivergent experiences can intersect with long-term health conditions and the importance of creating environments that support the whole individual.

Topics explored included:
đź’¬ Understanding overlapping experiences
đź’¬ The impact on everyday life and wellbeing
đź’¬ Practical ways to improve support and inclusion
đź’¬ Creating environments that recognise individual needs rather than assumptions

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared experiences, and contributed to such thoughtful discussions.

📄 We’ve also created a Neurodiversity & Chronic Conditions leaflet following the session.

💡 Mental health support isn’t one-size-fits-all

What helps one person thrive may overwhelm another.

For many neurodivergent individuals, wellbeing at work is influenced by:
Communication styles
Sensory environments
Workload pressure
Flexibility and autonomy
Psychological safety

That’s why truly inclusive workplaces move away from:
👉 “one approach for everyone” towards
👉 “approaches that work for individuals”

Because wellbeing and inclusion go hand in hand.

âś” Psychologically safe environments

Inclusion isn’t about doing more. It’s about creating workplaces where people feel supported, understood, and able to thrive.

💡 Inclusion isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing things differently

Many organisations believe neuro-inclusion requires complex strategies.

In reality, some of the most impactful changes are simple:
âś” Clear communication
âś” Structured processes
âś” Consistent support
âś” Flexible approaches

The difference lies in intentionality. When organisations shift from:
👉 “one approach for everyone”
to
👉 “approaches that work for individuals”

That’s when inclusion becomes real. Small changes. Big impact.

🚫 Neurodiversity isn’t the challenge — exclusion is.

Too often, workplaces focus on “fixing” individuals rather than addressing the barriers around them.

But when organisations shift their focus, everything changes.

đź’ˇ Neurodivergent talent brings:
âś” Unique ways of thinking
âś” Creative problem-solving
âś” Fresh perspectives
âś” Innovation

The real opportunity lies in:
👉 Removing unnecessary barriers
👉 Creating supportive environments
👉 Adapting how we work — not who we hire

Because inclusion isn’t just about doing the right thing…
👉 it’s about unlocking potential across your entire organisation.

Let’s build workplaces where everyone can thrive.
