When I started maternity leave, I thought I’d simply be pressing pause on work.
Instead, becoming a mum completely changed how I looked at my time.
I still love being an NHS nurse, and I’m incredibly proud of what I do. But I also realised I wanted more choices for our family. More flexibility. More control over how I spend my time as my daughter grows up.
So instead of endlessly scrolling during nap times, I started learning a new skill and building something that could fit around my life—not take me away from it.
It wasn’t about getting rich overnight.
It was about creating options.
The best part? I can do it around my baby, at my own pace, without giving up the career I love.
If you’re a healthcare mum—or any mum—who’s ever wondered if there’s another way to create more flexibility for your family, know that it’s okay to explore what’s possible.
Sometimes, the biggest thing standing between where we are and where we want to be is the courage to take that first step.
I’m so glad I did. 🤍
If you’re curious about what I do and how I got started, comment MAMA or send me a 💛. I’d be happy to share my experience.
