The Cholmondeley Room and Terrace of the House of Lords gave us exactly the atmosphere we hoped for: elegant, uplifting and full of the quiet confidence that comes with a building carrying centuries of history.

Then the room came alive.

A satellite built in Guildford flies over a hundred countries before lunch.

❇️ That's how Balazs Slezak answered our question about international business and our INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LEADERS' SUMMER DRINK event at the House of Lords on the 21st of July!

In just one sentence, he reminded us how differently some people see the world.
For many of us, international expansion is still a decision.
For Balazs, it's simply reality.

Then he said something surprising.
"Your home market is a sample size of one."

We become so familiar with our own market that we stop questioning it. We assume the demand is here because it's where we happen to be standing.

His advice is wonderfully simple.

Don't push harder where it's comfortable. Go where the demand already exists.

It sounds obvious. Until you realise how few of us actually do it.
That's one of the reasons people enjoy HBBA GLOBAL events. You end up talking to people whose world looks nothing like yours.

A space engineer. A manufacturer. An investor.
A hospitality founder. A logistics expert.

You arrive thinking you're going to exchange business cards.
