This news story caught my eye on the BBC News App this week - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59094685 - all about how commuter train journeys are less than half of pre-pandemic levels.
I guess this strengthens what I was saying in my most recent article over on Compound Consulting's website (see it here - https://www.compoundconsulting.co.uk/post/hybrid-working-one-size-doesn-t-fit-all).
Assuming that the news of less than 50% commutes now, means that train and other public transport services will soon have to start right sizing for our new ways of living, I guess that means commuting will become even less attractive - and we will start to see an ever decreasing amount of people wanting to travel to work on anything but their own terms.
Couple this with ever-better technology and (hopefully) good remote management techniques, and what I say in my article must be true...
Those businesses that get ahead of the game and start to deliver truly flexible & personalised hybrid ways of working, will get the pick of the crop in terms of candidates.
