Our colleague Lili was delighted to welcome a group of celebrants from The Academy of Professional Celebrants to Grantham Crematorium.

It was a great opportunity to show them around our facilities, talk about what happens behind the scenes and explain more about the work we do each day to support families and Funeral Directors.

We believe that building strong relationships with celebrants and other professionals within the funeral sector is incredibly important. Understanding each other’s roles helps us work together to provide the best possible experience for families at what can be an incredibly difficult time.

𝐀 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟, 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞! 👞😂

Our wonderful Celebrant Mandy Hawkes has shared a recent wedding she had the absolute pleasure of being part of, and what a fabulous celebration it was!

One of the highlights was the lively South Asian wedding tradition of oota Chupai (or Joota Churai), literally meaning “hiding the shoes”.

The tradition involves the bride’s family and friends sneakily stealing the groom’s shoes and then playfully demanding a little ransom for their safe return! 😄 It’s a wonderful ritual filled with laughter, cheeky negotiations and plenty of fun, the perfect way to bring everyone together and create unforgettable memories.

We absolutely love seeing Mandy embracing and celebrating meaningful traditions like this. We’re so proud of her creativity, warmth and ability to make every ceremony truly personal and special.

To this lovely couple, we wish you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter, happiness and wonderful adventures together. ❤️

And Mandy… we’re wondering, did the groom ever get his shoes back? 😉👞

A Wonderful Day of Learning at Grantham Crematorium 🌿

A heartfelt thank you to Lilly, Andy, Gary and Kelly at Grantham Crematorium for giving us and our delegates such a warm welcome and for providing a fascinating and informative tour of the facility.

We believe this is such an important part of our Celebrant Training curriculum. Having the opportunity to visit a crematorium, understand the facilities, ask questions and gain a deeper insight into the processes involved is invaluable for our future celebrants.

Experiences like this help our delegates build not only their knowledge and confidence, but also a greater understanding of the care, compassion and professionalism required when supporting families during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

And now, we look forward to another exciting learning experience next week, when we visit Tanatorio Crematorio La Siempreviva in Alicante with our new delegates.

We’re incredibly proud of the opportunities we’re able to provide as part of our training and can’t wait to continue the journey with our new group.
