UCL Centre for Systems Engineering

UCL Centre for Systems Engineering We're UCL's Centre for Systems Engineering. We teach, train, research and provide consultancy in sys Contact us to find out more!

UCLse is a centre of excellence for the teaching and practice of systems engineering and technical project management. In our experience, the successful delivery of large, complex projects in any industry is a combination of good systems engineering practice, strategic planning, project management and systems thinking. By adopting these approaches an organisation can significantly reduce the risks

of running over-budget, delivering late and disappointing the stakeholders. We work closely with industry to share our knowledge and experience. We do this through consultancy but also by providing a range of courses for continuous professional development (CPD) and bespoke training courses developed around clients’ skills gaps. We have a Masters programme in Systems Engineering Management, which has been designed with and for industry as a part-time course that fits with delegates work needs (though it is possible to study full-time). To discuss and share systems engineering and management related advice – and keep up to date on learning opportunities - we have a linkedin group you can join: http://www.linkedin.com/groups/UCL-Centre-Systems-Engineering-4977156/about . You can also follow us on twitter and check out our UCL website: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/syseng

The Centre for Systems Engineering was established in 2004 and is hosted by the Technology Management Group at UCL’s Department of Space and Climate Physics. This Department is otherwise known as the Mullard Space Science Laboratory (MSSL) and is a world leading space research organisation - the largest university-based organisation of this type in the UK. Over the years, the Department has contributed to over 30 satellite missions and provided key instrumentation to many of the most successful space missions within Europe, the USA and Japan. This long experience with complex systems that must perform in demanding environments supports and informs the work of the Centre for Systems Engineering.
