What is GOTS SCOPE-4

GOTS SCOPE-4 is the approval of chemical inputs (substance and preparations directly applied as textile auxiliary agents, inks, dyes and pigments).
Chemical manufacturers, formulators and traders can have their chemical input approved by a GOTS approved certification body.

The aim of GOTS Scope 4:

• To approve chemical inputs that meet the GOTS criteria for environmental and human health safety

• To issue Letters of Approval for auxiliary chemical inputs by GOTS approved certification bodies

• To list the approved chemical inputs on the GOTS Positive List, which is a database of chemical inputs for GOTS certified organic textiles

• To ensure that only low impact and harmless chemical inputs are used for the processing of GOTS goods, following the MRSL and the RSL
