This may interest anyone with a faulty adblue system on there Peugeot, Citroen or Vauxhall. It’s an internal email Peugeot customer service sent me when I asked for all the information they have on my van. The bit I like is “I believe now, the tanks are of good quality.”

If you own a Peugeot Expert van or a Citroen Dispatch van with an adblue system you may be interested in this. When the adblue light comes on asking you to top the adblue tank up and you fill the tank with adblue the adblue light on the dashboard should go out straight away. If your adblue light doesn’t go out straight away then the adblue system has a fault which may get worse. This is how our problems started with the adblue system to the point where the the light comes on even when the tank doesn’t need filling up!

We have had owned 3 Peugeot Expert vans 2 of them with adblue issues that Peugeot recommended repairers haven’t been able to rectify. Over the past 2 1/4 years my van has been off the road in the garage for around 3 months only for the faults to reappear. When the adblue light comes on saying the adblue tank level is low, the tank is then filled but the adblue light won’t go out for over a 100 miles and sometimes won’t go out until it’s reset through the ECU. Another fault I have been experiencing is the adblue light, the spanner light and the engine management light come up on the dashboard along with a message on the radio screen stating “Engine fault: Repair needed” followed by the adblue light and “Emissions fault”.
