The Cat’s Mother offers completely free, impactful business meetings between young emerging creatives, aged 18-25, and inspiring female veterans in the music and creative industries. As specialists in their field, Cat’s Mothers are equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience required to lead the pack and pave the way for other aspiring females. Our exclusive rolodex of independent, experien

ced and inspiring women have committed to a voluntary “bank” of ½ hour consultancy sessions for up and coming female entrepreneurs, career women and creatives. These 30-minute slots are gifted by our organisation to support the talent development and industry awareness of ambitious entry level individuals. After an initial discussion designed to discover what you need to get your paw in the door, we curate our consultancy match-making service according to relevance and individual need. The Cat’s Mother then organises a time and a place that makes the conversation convenient and impactful.

Áine has 20+ years’ experience working within the creative and cultural industries with businesses of all sizes from start-up to large corporate organisations. Áine has been at Blue Raincoat Music for over 7 years, a record label, artist management and music publishing company, where she oversees the business operations. Prior to joining Blue Raincoat Music / Chrysalis Records, Áine was a freelance business and project management consultant. An alumnus of the Music Leaders Network, Áine is passionate about supporting the next generation of the music industry.

INTRODUCING OUR SPEAKERS…Amy Samson 💜

Amy has been with Universal Music Publishing Group for the past 6 years as Senior Creative Manager - Sync A&R.

Amy began her music career at Solar Management, where she managed artists, producers and songwriters for 12 years, including Grammy Award Winning mixer Dan Grech. She then moved to the role of Director of A&R at the UK office of Spirit B-Unique Music Publishing, working with some exceptional writers and artists, including Johnny McDaid, JC Stewart, James Bay, Corey Sanders, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and John Newman.

In her current role, she manages relationships with the company’s frontline roster of artists, producers, and writers. Her day to day responsibilities also include running sync writing camps, writing sessions, marketing and events. In addition to this she works closely with the A&R team highlighting key trends and developments in the Film & TV industry and providing integral sync insight to help inform signings and catalog acquisitions.

INTRODUCING OUR SPEAKERS…first up Kate Hendry 💕

‘Intro To The Music Business’ with BIMM University Bristol takes place on Sat 15th March, supported by Amazon Music UK.

Kate Hendry is Head of Label Operations at Absolute Label Services. ✨

Kate’s passion for music began at an early age, and she credits her upbringing for the uniquely varied musical taste that has gotten her everywhere in her career so far. She started at Virgin Records America, then went onto work in artist management at No Half Measures for the first half of her career. For the last decade, Kate has moved on to her biggest and best position yet of Head of Label Operations at Absolute Label Services. Some of her successes to date have been Sea Power’s first ever UK top 5 album, edbl recordings hitting its 120M streams milestone, Kula Shaker’s latest album, Kaiser Chiefs’ latest charting album out earlier this year; plus chart successes with Babymetal, Newton Faulkner & Jake Shears before that. Up-and-coming acts of note include Taura Lamb, Temptress & James Berkeley.
