A little Coral inspiration from the stand 🪸

Coral is always such a tricky colour to work with because everybody’s vision of the colour coral is slightly different. Sometimes it can be verging on peach or apricot, sometimes pink, and sometimes even hues of orange creep in.

The best bit about the summer is the wonderful array of flowers sent through by our amazing English suppliers. Each week we are delighted by the buckets and bunches sent through with new and colourful varieties of flowers that are some of the best our country has to offer each season. Definitely something we can pride ourselves in as we bring back more homegrown beauties! Currently, we are just about to hit the local dahlia season and we dont know about you but we are so excited for these to land on the stand! Keep your eyes open for them on the stand soon.

Next on our spring favourites list is the icon of the season and the flower of March - the Narcissus. Ranging from the humble daffodil to the sweetly scented Tête-à-tête’s & Paperwhites, we love the many varieties on offer. Green and Bloom offer some locally grown narcissus bunches like the gorgeous ones pictured with George, and these come in a few different head shapes and colours. We are also able to source many daffodils which have a surprisingly large variety of different colours and trumpet shapes and are sure to make any floral display look extra seasonal.

We also have narcissi bulbs on sale on our webshop or available to order through the plant department - great for contracts or retail gifts.

Another spring treasure on the stand is the much loved French Tulip. Coming in so many different colours and shapes, these curvy beauties are a firm favourite in all floristry departments. Slightly misunderstood by some people in the way they curve and follow the light - we love that they have a mind of their own and bloom to their own spring tune. We have parrots, doubles and the classic shape available on the stand, to order, or on the webshop.

As we head into March, the stand is starting to look a lot more colourful as we begin to get in all our favourite spring blooms. A spring classic is the delightful Syringa, commonly known as Lilac, which comes in an array of purples and whites or the beautiful Maidens Blush. Lilac is much loved for its scent, sweet little flowers and its ability to add movement to each arrangement or bouquet.

The Mondial Rose.

If you are looking for an alternative to an avalanche or sweet avalanche rose with a large head, the Mondial is a good affordable alternative that come in a variety of stem lengths. These open beautifully and can look quite garden rose like in full bloom. These are part of our South American imported stock that we get in throughout the week and is available to order through either the webshop or with our market team.

Our other Valentine’s favourites are our South American varieties - The Explorer and the Freedom Roses. These varieties are loved for their large heads, deep red colour and how easy they are to condition due to their minimal leaves and thorns.

Another reason to love these roses is how easy they are to reflex and open up by hand which is perfect for sumptuous arrangements and blousy hand-ties. So romantic!

As Valentines draws closer, we shine a spotlight on one of our favourite rose variety - a Red Naomi. Loved for its gorgeous velvety petals in deep crimson with fold upon fold as it slowly unfurls. Also favoured as a Valentines classic due its strong longevity, large head and versatility to look amazing in both a perfect dome, singular with some foliage or in a stunning arrangement.

If you haven’t managed to order for the following days or Valentines itself - the market is readily stocked over the following days to meet your flower needs.
