This time last week, our Workstyle Revolution co-founders and were on their way to Qingdao, China to collect an award at the Zero DX Awards Ceremony on behalf of their professional services agency Hoxby.

Hoxby implements workstyle practices throughout its business, serving as both a case study and a service provider for organisations looking to adopt workstyle principles.

Having been selected as one of the 50 most progressive organisations in the world, we are proud to share that Hoxby have also won the Benchmark Innovators Zero Distance Award, recognising our innovative approach to organisational design.

Hoxby’s culture has always been grounded in the principle of autonomous, workstyle working. This has enabled us to attract diverse, freelance talent that organises into teams specifically tailored to meet the individual requirements of each client. This reduces the ‘distance’ to our customers; a fundamental principle of the RenDanHeYi model, pioneered by Haier.

We are incredibly grateful to the Business Ecosystem Alliance, Thinkers50 and the Haier Model Institute for recognising our pioneering work in this space.

If you would like to learn more about the way Hoxby work, or how it might help transform your business then please get in touch at Hoxby.com

Charity partnership announcement! 📣

We’re pleased to confirm that we have recently agreed a new partnership with .

Autistica are the UK’s leading autism research and campaigning charity. Their mission is to help all autistic people to live happier, healthier, longer lives. And one of their goals is particularly aligned to our Workstyle mission:

“The employment rate for autistic people will double by 2030”.

There are 450,000 autistic people of working age in the UK. 77% of autistic adults want to work, but only 26% are in any kind of employment. This means that the working gap for this group is 51%.*

We look forward to working with Autistica and advocating for neurodiverse individuals.

Employer Partnership Announcement!! 📣

Since launching our ‘The 21’ initiative we have been in conversation with a number of employers keen to work with us to support 21 workstyle trials for members of the excluded workforce. We’re delighted to confirm one of those partners as - one of the largest global communications groups in the world with a mission to make a meaningful difference to brands, businesses and people.

As an inaugural partner, the team at Havas have already been amazing allies in helping us shape our approach to the project and we are so excited to be working with them.

If you know an employer already individualising work (or is keen to learn how) - visit ‘The 21’ link in our bio to find out more and register your interest.

Charity partnership announcement!! 📣

Following the success of our round table event at the Houses of Parliament back in March, we are absolutely over the moon to announce our first charity partnership with Astriid - a charity bridging the gap between innovative businesses and talented individuals with long-term health conditions.

Around 20% of the UK population are living with at least one long-term health condition, and it’s estimated that one in three have an Energy Limiting Condition. These numbers are set to rise, and as over half of this population say that health is a barrier to the work they can do*, inclusive employment must be prioritised.

Astriid was formed in 2018, when founder, the late David Shutts OBE, was unable to find work opportunities that fit around his stage four kidney cancer diagnosis. Astriid offers training for employers who see the value of embedding support for long-term health conditions and disabilities into their DEI strategies; and provides targeted information for individuals with long-term health conditions who are seeking work or who hope to remain in work following a chronic illness diagnosis or relapse.

We look forward to working with the Astriid team to close the employment gaps for individuals currently excluded from work due to chronic health conditions.

Wow what an experience that was! To get such an inspiring group of people together to discuss intersectional inclusion and closing the employment gaps for excluded groups is a dream come true for us. And it’s only the beginning! We learnt so much during the round table discussion and afterwards at the evening event with guests from charities, government, institutions and employers. We knew we didn’t have all the answers. We knew this was just the beginning of the conversation. And we’re buoyed and motivated to continue the discussion with our newly established partners.

Some thank yous….

💜 Thank you to (co-chair of the future of work APPG) for hosting us.

💜 Thank you to our round table guests Stevie Spring CBE (), Jane van Zyl (), Emily Holzhausen OBE (), Paul Farmer CBE (), James Arvidson (), James Taylor () and James Cusack () who was unfortunately absent on the day but we hope to discuss with him soon.

💜 Thank you to all our evening reception guests for your participation, ideas, and pledges. It feels wonderful to have so much positivity and support from such an influential group.

💜 Thank you to our incredible artist for giving such a powerful and inspirational performance.

💜 And finally to our committed team of workstyle revolutionaries who helped organise and run the day. Our door is always open to join our community - the link to do so is in our bio!

TODAY! At the House of Commons the 2024 Workstyle Revolution Round Table event is bringing together top representatives of some of the leading charities representing groups excluded from traditional work practices with representatives from Government and the business world to discuss how the new Workstyle Revolution Intersectional Code can close the working gaps for each of these groups.

The round table and evening event will launch our approach to closing the gaps, offering insights and guidelines for organisations and employers who want to be at the forefront of designing truly inclusive work structures that work for everyone.

We’re ready to do this! ✊ Follow us for regular updates and join the revolution via the link in our bio.

Anyone listening to BBC Radio Five on Monday morning at 7:45am will have heard talking about The Workstyle Revolution as part of an extensive feature they're running on ways of working this month.

The irony being that at that particular time Alex was also trying to get the kids into their school uniforms and to eat their breakfast!

Listen to the whole show via the link in our bio and you will hear from the incredible Julia Hobsbawm, or you can skip to 1'46" to hear what Alex had to say about

In summary… Workstyle is best suited to the 1 billion knowledge workers globally and so the opportunity for inclusion among this type of worker is hugely significant. People are conditioned to think we have to be in a shared place at a shared time to do our work, which is how it was when the 8 hour day was conceived 200+ years ago. At Hoxby people choose when and where they work so that it fits around their life. This is great for our diversity, and we still come together in real life to connect with each other because human connection remains important for social bonding, despite it not being necessary for the delivery of work. In the digital age, we should advocate choice, rather than mandating when and where work is done, and we believe this choice will create an inclusive and prosperous future for us all.

"Since working in a workstyle way, despite working completely alone, I've never felt more connected to so many people and it's amazing"

These were the words from one of our workstyle community members recently.

And in our new book (out now to buy, link is in the bio) we talk about how workstyle actually INCREASES our ability to connect.

Find out what THREE things make it possible in this week's Workstyle Freestyle episode.
