For the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of cooperation between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the countries of Central Asia, a business forum was held at the headquarters of the EBRD in London.

The EBRD President and delegations at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers of Central Asian states outlined historic achievements and future projects and opportunities that both sides will pursue in a collaborative manner, strengthening the region as a commercial hub.

Important fields were discussed such as transport, energy and water. At the same time, the importance of creating a unified energy system in Central Asia and the construction of hydropower stations, especially the Rogun HPP for the region, was emphasized.

The 30th Anniversary of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Central Asia is being marked this week. Sessions covering sustainable mining, growth opportunities, and economics will examine the region in greater detail.

A networking session will also be in place given the high level of delegates at the event.

1st November 2021, on the side-lines of the COP26 Conference in Glasgow, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. M. Huseinzoda met with the Minister for Europe and Americas of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland H.E. Ms. Wendy Morton.

Developing bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres, joint efforts are discussed to prevent the consequences of climate change and COVID-19.

The sides also discussed matters of partnership within the framework of international organizations and other issues of mutual interest.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Ambassadors Club was established in London on September 14, 2021, following a working meeting of the Ambassadors of the member countries and observers.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Tajikistan. During the meeting, the Ambassador of Tajikistan Masud Khalifazoda provided the participants with information on Tajikistan’s Chairmanship in the SCO.

Also, within the framework of this meeting, the Ambassador of Tajikistan proposed to create the SCO Ambassadors Club and to hold its subsequent meetings on a regular basis.

Taking this opportunity, within the framework of the meeting, the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Tajikistan was celebrated.

An important visit took place from the UK to Tajikistan by Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister of State for South Asia and the Commonwealth. Such visits help grow and expand coordinated action between both countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Dominic Raab had a telephone conversation that focused on bilateral cooperation as well as climate change.

This is a highly positive engagement given the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26 that will be held in Glasgow later this year. Such discussions ahead of time show a desire for both sides to expand relations across many fields.

Телефонный разговор с Государственным секретарем по иностранным делам, Содружеству и Развитию Великобритании

2 сентября 2021 года состоялся телефонный разговор Министра иностранных дел Республики Таджикистан Сироджиддина Мухриддина с Государственным секретарем по иностранным делам, Содружеству и Развитию Соединенного Королевства Великобритании и Северной Ирландии Домиником Раабом.

В ходе разговора состоялся конструктивный обмен мнениями по актуальным вопросам двустороннего сотрудничества, включая укрепление границ и изменение климата.

В процессе беседы в центре внимания сторон находились проблематика Афганистана и нынешнее критическое развитие ситуации в этой стране.

Phone call with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom

On September 2, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin had a telephone conversation with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Dominic Raab.

During the call, the parties held constructive talks on topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including strengthening the border and climate change.

In the process of conversation, the sides focused on the problems of Afghanistan and the current critical development of the situation in that country.
