We Love MCR charity

Funding is intended to assist local charities, community groups and organisations working to improve the lives and life chances of people living in Manchester and to help develop stronger communities by encouraging more citizens to be active in working together to strengthen their community.
The fund is looking to support projects from Manchester (Not Greater Manchester) which have one or more of the following themes:
1. Helping the early years: supporting children 0-4 years old, and their parents, to make the best start possible in terms of learning, health and/or nutrition.
2. Combating loneliness and social exclusion: supporting groups of people who are at risk of exclusion from community life, for example as a result of advanced age or disability.
3. Protecting and improving open spaces: delivering work which ensures public spaces are maintained and improved for the benefit of local people, or expanding access to open spaces for all members of the community.
4. Offering positive youth activities: providing sustainable, structured programmes/activities to help communities of young people to live safely and successfully.
Funding can be used for the following types of projects:
1. Community fun day/events which celebrate the different cultures represented in the neighbourhood (these could incorporate diverse food, music and entertainment).
2. Projects which involve visits/activities between Manchester wards to increase knowledge and understanding about other neighbourhoods and communities.
3. Projects which give residents the opportunity to explore what it means to be a resident in their community, encouraging involvement across ages, religions, genders, ethnicities and helping them to identify activities which can build stronger relationships in their community.
4. Intergenerational activity sessions, helping to build relationships and understanding across the generations.

Deadline: 7 July 2022

We're dedicated to supporting Manchester's communities and young people. We support ambitious young Mancunians to take their next steps to success, and we support communities across Manchester to improve lives in their neighbourhoods. We love Manchester!

Have your stay on the future of the National Lottery Community Fund

The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) has launched an 18-month Strategy Renewal process that will shape how it supports people and communities to prosper and thrive in the future.
The process is starting with a six-week anonymous survey which will enable diverse communities from across the UK to join in conversations about their hopes and ambitions and the challenges they face, as well as sharing their views on the best ways lottery funding might support their communities. The input gained will help shape how the NLCF invests in communities going forward as well as the wider support it offers.
