Yes, AI can write posts, optimise your CV, and even do work for you, but it can't (yet) singlehandedly replace your reputation-building efforts. That's why crafting a LinkedIn profile that reflects what you want to be known for still matters because it allows you to reinforce your personal brand, a uniquely human asset only you possess.

Thanks to UCL Global Business School for Health for giving me the opportunity join your Careers Day to share some tips on how to make your LinkedIn profile support your career ambitions.

Listening to interesting AI panel hosted by EDHEC in Partnership with Imperial College Business School. Some takeaways:
- Soft skills like critical thinking ( #1), communication skills, EQ, and resilience are becoming more crucial
- Human relationships cannot (yet) be easily replaced by AI
- Deep expertise will become more critical, resulting in organizations shifting from pyramid to diamond shaped
- AI Natives could be at an advantage at the middle layer of businesses if they can supplement learning agility with critical judgment

There was a question asked by an EDHEC MBA about how you get to mid-manager level if junior roles are going away. I didn’t hear a clear response to this from the panellists. What I am sensing though is that there’s an undeniable push to maximise work output, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

Some people see this AI revolution as being very exciting. I get that view. But it’s hard not to see how all this will result in expectations on workers sky rocketing to a level that will put a tremendous amount of relentless pressure, stress, and strain on everyone. I’m honestly not sure how sustainable all of this will be on workers as they try to keep up with these elevated work expectations and pace of work that will soon become the norm. When bars keep getting raised on workers, expecting them to jump higher and higher and higher, at some point, it’s going to lead to widespread exhaustion and burn out.
