🇺🇦For those who are in the Richmond Upon Thames area, a Ukrainian café in Twickenham is collecting donations for Ukrainian refugees. Please note they will ONLY accept items on their list (pls see photo attached).

We went there yesterday to donate a few items. It was heartwarming to see the entire café was packed with donations, and the volunteers there were very friendly and welcoming.

This location is one of several dedicated donation centres in London which have been established to send much-needed items for refugees in the war.

It has taken a broad overview on the schools' performance on GCSE, A-Level, IB, &/or Pre-U exams. Schools are ranked based on a three-year average of academic outcomes released in 2019, 2018, 2017 to reflect pre-pandemic performance in “normal” times.

Rightmove has just announced their Happy at Home Index for 2021. Hexham, a picturesque market town in Northumberland, has once again been crowned the happiest place to live in Great Britain. Richmond Upon Thames in London came second, and Harrogate in Yorkshire is in third place.

Emma Raducanu has made history at the US Open last night! The 18-year-old became the first British Woman to win a Grand Slam singles championship in 44 years.
She is also the first qualifier in the Open Era to ever win a Grand Slam! She did it without losing any set throughout US Open.

Great news that there will be more choices in foreign languages at state schools!

A £4m Department for Education (DfE) scheme will initially be rolled out to introduce Latin across 40 state schools as part of a four-year pilot programme for 11- to 16-year-olds starting in September 2022.

Foreign language lessons have been compulsory in primary schools from the age of seven since 2014, which can include an ancient language. But from age 11, schools must teach a modern foreign language which means ancient languages would have to be taught on top of that.
