Hi all – Welcome to August ! July was a very successful month with many minor repairs,
the smallest was replacing a caster on a dining chair. The owner had collected all the bits
of the caster and chips of wood surrounding the caster area before the cleaner made them
disappear under the sofa – Yes! It does happen!
I glued the pieces back, blocked up the caster screw hole with a dowel and, when dry,
re-drilled the hole to accept the caster. Then coloured the surrounding damaged wood
so that even I could not see where the damage had been – and I repaired it!
The cost of the repair did not even cover the cost of my petrol, but it was for a valued
long-standing customer and I believe it was worth doing as that’s why this customer
remains loyal to me for any future repairs as many of my customers do.
Some of you have asked for my email address. I thought this was already somewhere on
this page but here it is again. All lower case – no spaces.

Look forward to hearing from you,
Alan
