Meet Jimmy Olima and George Williams. These two men are trained Safeboda drivers. Boda boda is an East African name for motorcycle or bicycle taxis. Usually, these taxis are unlicensed and unsafe. One of our fabulous creatives caught up with Jimmy and George to talk about SafeBoda, a business supported by the Shell Foundation. SafeBoda is working in Uganda, and across Africa, to provide safer, more secure transit by licencing and training boda boda drivers. SafeBoda is quickly becoming the Uber of motorcycle taxis in Africa. Watch the video here: http://ow.ly/QVpd30jO7eh

"Creating value from waste"- Sistema BioBolsa
Did you know that cleaner and greener biogas fuel can be created from cow dung?
Waste from cows can be converted into fertiliser and usable biogas using a biodigester, which adds bacteria to break down the manure.
These systems can help rural communities in several ways. The environment is healthier because more farm waste is utilised and less wood is needed for fuel. Females are more empowered because of the time and energy they save, and their health is also improved because they no longer have to breathe in fumes from their cooking fires.
Sistema Biobolsa is a social enterprise that installs biogas systems in partnership with Shell Foundation.
We caught up with them in Kenya, where our creatives documented how Sistema BioBolsa programmes are helping rural communities. To learn more about the benefits of biogas and Sistema BioBolsa, check out our inspiring video: ow.ly/mOTb30jGqZw

Sistema BioBolsa How do bacteria and cow dung empower women and families in Africa? The answer is that when placed together into a biodigester, they create biofuels,…

The latest venture we want to share behind-the-scenes photos from comes to us from East Africa. Kenya has a high youth unemployment rate, especially in rural areas. ALDI Stores teamed up with Farm Africa to help improve opportunities for unemployed youth in Western Kenya, resulting in assistance for 400 young people in setting up profitable horticultural businesses that grow a variety of crops. Our creatives Harry and Lisa met the beneficiaries of the project to film and photograph them in their element. Here are a few beautiful images of Harry at work as Jon from ALDI chats with Mary from Farm Africa on camera.

We are excited to share a glimpse of our recent work for Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Political Dialogue Asia, this time from the other side of the lens! We sent one of our fabulous creatives to film the First Training Session for the 2018-19 batch of the Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Here, we see him shooting an interview with Charu Pragya, a lawyer-politician from India who heads the National Legal Cell of the Youth Wing of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The footage will be combined with material from at least two other countries over the course of the 2018-19 session to make several short videos for the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (Foundation).

Our creatives have been hard at work around the world, shooting moving images for our clients. Lately, for instance, we have been photographing the work of Abt Associates' Health Finance & Governance Project (HFG), funded by USAID - US Agency for International Development. The project aims to strengthen health systems in over thirty countries. We have been helping to visually document HFG's programmes in Haiti, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Vietnam. We thought we would share a couple of images from Ethiopia and Haiti with you, our followers. There's one from each side of the lens! Enjoy!!
