A strong start for CT Group at UKREiiF in Leeds.

We were proud to kick off our third year hosting a panel at the premier UK Real Estate event with 'The Politics of Devolution, Development and Directives – Progress or Paralysis'.

Expertly chaired by Anna Wrigglesworth, the session sparked engaging debate and highlighted both promising progress and real challenges. Our panel brought together voices from national government, devolved local leadership, legal, planning, and delivery, offering unique perspectives and insights that made for a rich and thought-provoking discussion.

While the majority felt that progress is being made under the current system, a few dissenting voices reminded us there’s still much work to do.

The CT Group team is just getting started, we have two more busy days of events, panels, client meetings, and networking ahead.

With just hours to go until voters head to the polls in Germany, new CT Group polling looks at the likely outcome, and the values, drivers and issues underlying the headline figures - and why Germany is set to reject Mr Scholz’s programme for government.

Sir Lynton Crosby AO features in The Telegraph today discussing the insights from these research findings. It makes for interesting reading. Concerns about immigration and the economy are the most important issues influencing vote, and performance on these issues remain the key challenge for the parties. The electorate are not optimistic that the country is moving in the right direction - and are looking for answers and leadership.

In light of Germany's upcoming federal elections, CT Group hosted a briefing for industry leaders on what the election means for business.

Maria Hadzhieva shared insights from CT Group's latest bespoke research, which uncovered the issues and motivations of the German public and their influence on the vote. We were joined by political expert Christoph Matschie (Minister ret.) from friedrich 30 who shared his expertise.

One of our key findings from the research was that German voters are driven by a sense of safety and security and that the CDU/CSU is seen to be better positioned to deliver.

We were also joined by the German Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Miguel Berger, who provided his perspective on how the election will shape the social and economic environment.

CT Group hosted a private briefing for industry leaders of the defence sector this morning titled:

How Global Politics Will Impact Defence in 2025

Sir Lynton Crosby AO and General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith GCB CBE DL shared insights into how businesses should navigate the challenges of the coming year including the Strategic Defence Review, debates around defence spending, global conflicts and trade wars, as well as shifts in public perceptions that could change the government’s approach to an increasingly hostile world.

General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith is a senior advisor to CT Group. He is the former Head of the British Army and the longest serving Army Chief since the Second World War. During a 40-year career, Mark served across the Middle East, the Balkans, South-East Asia, Africa, Afghanistan and South America. James has been with CT Group for 5 years. He joined from HSBC, where he was a Managing Director in Operational Risk and their Middle East Adviser, based in Dubai, Paris and London.

James was previously a British diplomat for 19 years. He served in some of the most high-risk countries including Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, as well as in Geneva and Brussels.
