The local Business Awards want to give national recognition to the best local businesses in the UK. By doing this we can inspire people to shop local and create thriving, resilient local economies. Every £1 spent with a local supplier is worth £1.76 to the local economy, and only 36 pence if it is spent out of the local area. That makes £1 spent locally worth almost 400 % more to the local economy. This is how we will rebuild high-streets, communities, giving opportunity to all and building a better more sustainable economy. Supporting local means that you care about the community that you live in. You'll be able to put money back into your community and the other people who call it home. Traditional awards cannot address the diversity of all the amazing businesses in the UK, so we do not limit the number of winners. We don’t arbitrarily compare unique organisations so we can have 1 winner. We don’t use a biased metric, we don’t subjectively pick winners. We celebrate excellence, we celebrate all amazing local businesses. This methodology has been used by The Lotus Awards for 5 years and has recognised some of the most innovative brands on the planet.
