🥊 For this promo image of my friend Lee Bennett ahead of his white-collar fight, I decided to have a bit of fun and push the creative side of editing.
💻 I’ve been using Photoshop since my university days in the early 2000s, and it’s incredible to see how far the software has come. Back then, the tools felt revolutionary. Today, with the addition of AI 🤖, the creative possibilities are almost limitless.
For me, Photoshop and AI are exactly that—tools. 🛠️
Like any tool, they can be used well or abused. Most of the time, my editing is focused on cleaning up images, removing distractions, improving colour, and helping the viewer focus on the subject. This edit goes further than I normally would, exploring some of the creative possibilities AI can bring while still trying to maintain the integrity of both the image and the person in it.
✨ It’s an exciting time to be a creative. The speed at which technology is evolving is genuinely fascinating. But I also think it’s important that we don’t lose sight of authenticity and realism along the way.
🏆 Many of my clients spend years building their physiques, sacrificing weekends, early mornings, and countless meals in pursuit of their goals. The last thing I’d want to do is undermine that hard work by creating something that no longer represents reality.
📸 I’ve spent nearly two decades learning photography, lighting, posing, retouching, and visual storytelling. Those skills still matter. If anything, I believe they’ll become even more valuable in a world increasingly filled with AI-generated content.
I actually think “real” may become the premium product. 💎
As AI-generated images become more common, genuine moments, real achievements, authentic physiques, and true craftsmanship may become more sought after than ever.
The technology is incredible, but real people, real stories, and real hard work will always have value. 👊
What do you think—does AI enhance creativity, or are we in danger of losing what makes photography special? 🤔
