As we wrap up assisted living week this year...I am reminiscing about all my hospice liaisons in my Palliative Care role, mental health facilities I am working with to help those who can't and the walks around Dulwich and Herne Hill to help those who have seen the years pass by and their bodies just weren't as mobile like it used to be.

I grew up with my grandmother and automatically learnt to be a listener and anticipate her needs before she said it. A house full of grandbabies and we sometimes all rushed so we could be the favourite hopefully for sweets or money.

Didn't even realise I would still be a champion for the elderly and vulnerable.

Any experience with assisting those who are unable to help themselves this week?

We are in a pandemic but corona is not the only healthcare issue we have on our minds.

Summer comes with it's associated heat, pollen, expedited decay and well, micro-organisms that thrive in heat.

As a doctor, you can use your platform to educate your potential patients on how to stay safe.

The bigger governmental organisations may be doing it but social media has opened up the avenue to connect with people on a personal and influential level.

They want to hear from you too.

Pandemic is now a term that's routine for most of us.

Essential is a term that now needs an upgrade because our healthcare professionals have held the fort and the flu line for millions across the world.

The claps, the appreciation in gestures may not be enough but we cannot emphasize how much we need and will forever need you.

The average doctor trains for 40,000 hours before leaving Med School.

And for those who want to specialise, it's now about finding placements in the departments of your choice and learning and working and growing your expertise on this journey.

I am not saying we are going with the create 90 days of content within 2 hours stuff because healthnews is very dynamic these days but an hour a week to plan your content to help more patients is not impossible?
