One of the biggest mistakes people make when presenting at work is assuming the audience is following their thinking in the same order they are.
Usually, they aren’t.
Most audiences are silently trying to answer four questions:
Where are we going?
Why are we going there?
What are we supposed to do with this?
And what happens next?
When those questions are answered clearly and in the right order, presentations feel easy to follow.
When they aren’t, even good content can feel heavier than it needs to.
This is one of the ideas I’ll be exploring in a live Learning at Work Week session on 19 May (12–1 pm):
Facts, Feelings & Future
A practical session on presenting and public speaking at work with more clarity, relevance and impact.
The session is live and won’t be recorded.
