Calling all Bedfordshire Chamber members!

Do you have a challenge in your business that you'd like some fresh thinking on?

As part of our upcoming Work Experience Programme with the University of Bedfordshire, we're inviting local businesses to join us for a Business Challenge Workshop.

This interactive session will give you the opportunity to bring along a real business challenge and work through it with other local businesses, industry professionals and the programme team. We'll help shape your challenge into a live project that can then be taken forward by teams of year 10 to 13 students, university students and University Faculty Team during the two-week programme in July.

Challenges could relate to:
• Business growth
• Marketing and social media
• Recruitment and retention
• AI and technology
• Sustainability
• Customer engagement
• Process improvement
• Community impact
• Or any issue your business is currently facing

Following the workshop, students and graduates will research, develop ideas and present practical recommendations back to participating businesses.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain fresh perspectives, contribute to developing local talent and potentially uncover solutions to challenges you've been struggling to find time to tackle.

The programme is being delivered in partnership with Right FM, The British Mauritian, Luton Cohort CIC and the University of Bedfordshire @ Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce bringing together education, business and community to create meaningful opportunities across Bedfordshire.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various environments, ensuring that all areas are tidy and presentable. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent service to our clients.

Hours of Work:
Site operational Monday to Friday
Cleaning to be carried out After 5.00pm
2 hours per day, Tuesday and Thursday (4 hours per week).

Duties
Perform cleaning tasks in designated areas, including offices, restrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces.
Dust, mop, vacuum, and scrub surfaces to maintain a high standard of cleanliness as per scope.
Dispose of waste and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain an organised supply area and ensure cleaning materials are used efficiently.

Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with clients and team members.

Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred but not mandatory.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and responsibility in all tasks undertaken. We look forward to welcoming a new member who shares our commitment to cleanliness and customer satisfaction!

Right FM are joining compassionate people from across Luton for an unforgettable night under the stars, sleeping out at Luton Town FC to raise vital funds for those facing poverty and homelessness in the Luton area.

Homelessness approaches were 2,032 in 2019 to 2020 and fell to 1,625 in 2020 to 2021, rising to 4,652 in 2021 to 2022. The most common reason for homelessness is the ending of a private tenancy or family and friends being unable to accommodate.

Local Businesses in Luton have all signed up to see if we can raise a whopping £30k between us. Please please help us acheive our target and help Luton get to its 2040 vision of no one living in poverty
